Hello all, once again it's August. How did that happen? It's been an eventful year. I moved to a new office space, my daughter graduated from high school and is moving on to college. I've been volunteering a lot, and life has been filled with different kinds of chaos (kids' broken hearts, my husband's health going nuts again, me starting to get arthritis, helping my sisters deal with our aging mother and all of her needs and challenges, etc.).
I really feel like logging in to say "I have not done any meaningful writing (unless you count songs)" is kind of pointless. Nobody wants to read that, do they?
Anyway, today's post is inspired by this: I was contacted by someone who had some wonderful things to say about my new book--which was great--except that I didn't write it. Kathleen M. Warren has a book out, which I'm now going to check out for myself, because it sounds interesting. You should check it out too.
Hey, maybe blogging just isn't for me. I'm not good at social media either. I'm an introvert who likes long, in-depth conversations about deep subjects and social media... X-Twitter was always too quick. Facebook is its own kind of swamp/dumpster fire. Pinterest isn't the best place to have a conversation, though it's still fun.
The good news...I am taking small steps to move toward more regular creative activities. I've got Vikings to edit, and a humor novel to rewrite, and guitar to learn to play again. And a play to co-direct this fall, which won't help with the blogging, but at least it gets me out of the house.
I'm actually thinking of doing a post or three based on popular myths about "Vikings" and early Norse culture. If that appeals to you, let me know with a comment.
