Six Sentence Sundays 4/15/12

Welcome back to another Six Sentence Sunday.  A wonderful time when authors post exactly six sentences of their work.

This week we are skipping ahead to chapter 8 because that's where I'm currently working.  Ellen, feeling better, is reconnecting with an old friend.  We join them in a restaurant where they have met for lunch, and her friend offers a toast to the louse who left.

The server set their glasses down and went back to the kitchen for the mixed green salad.  “To Doug!”
“To Doug?”  It was Ellen’s turn to raise her eyebrows.
“To Doug!”  Rita repeated, “May he grow old quickly and lose all his hair to a freak shampoo accident!”

That's my six for the week.  Be sure to check out the other fabulously talented authors who participate in Six Sentence Sundays.

After the grief he gave her and the rage she showed in her house, I would have thought that she would have had some choice words in her toast, but this shows she has the class to not be vulgar. May he bald indeed!

Yes, Rita is showing remarkable restraint for her. Especially since Doug was the reason their friendship broke up all those years ago.

Wonderful toast. By the way, in Rescue Operation everyone else has put their memories of the "old" Zhaim into storage and keeps accusing Roi of being paranoid because he doesn't trust the "new" Zhaim. Roi feels safer keeping this memory intact--but he's under a lot of pressure to strip it.
