Thank you to those who read and comment.  Your support is always appreciated.  This week we're going back to Chapter 8 and Ellen's lunch with Rita.

After listening to Ellen ordering a very light lunch Rita has placed her own rather impressive, calorie-laden order.  She sees that Ellen is staring and says:

“My motto is everything in moderation—emphasis on the everything.”
“I envy you.  If I still ate like that I’d weigh even more.”
“Is that what that rabbit food order is about?”
“Since when do rabbits eat chicken?”
“They would if somebody cooked it for them.

Have I mentioned how much fun it was writing Rita?  Thank you for stopping by and have a great time checking out all the talented writers who participate in Six Sentence Sunday.

LOL -- I love the way Rita thinks -- and speaks her mind. :) Fun six.

LOL, Kate. Nice dialogue. Sounds like something I'd overhear at a diner. :)

Rita does sound like a fun character to write. This conversation actually reminds me of a conversation I once heard in the dorm about low calorie bread. The girls were skinny as flag poles and they were so happy when the dinning hall brought back the 90 cal per slice bread. >.< Go figure.

It sounds like every conversation I've ever had with any woman I eat with. Only I'm Rita every time. XD I totally respect everyone watching what they eat. But I watch really yummy food and then eat it. This is a fun six.

Please tell me Rita is going to get her own book! I can soooo identify with her. Love the by-play between these two. BFFs like Rita are priceless, even if Ellen doesn't always think so. ;-)

good point. Would they like it fried or broiled, I wonder...

Isn't it annoying how some people can eat everything in sight and stay slim?

I don't think rabbits eat meat but I don't know. However, the dialogue is very realistic. Women are always talking diets.

Oh, Rita is fun. She's feisty and outspoken. She could be such a versatile fit for your story--a loose cannon when needed, and brutally honest critique to be admired and respected. The possibilities... Great six, Kate! ;-)

Hah! I think we can all identify with each woman, depending on our mood ... and how our pants fit that morning! Great dialog.

On your 'about' page, I reckon you should change your favourite colour to 'pizza'.

It would be much more fun.

Aw... she's self-conscious about her weight. Is this new since the break up? Hope her new love interest loves her curves! :)
