I'd like to thank all of those who read and/or comment on my Six Sentence Sunday posts, but sadly I only know you online so there will be no flowers or chocolates. Still, I appreciate you!
This week we're in Chapter 12. Handsome Dr. Henry is having dinner with his sister and brother-in-law. Rita has put phase one of her plan into action, but Henry is wise to her scheming.
"Henry forked more of the pot roast into his mouth and chewed philosophically. If he could make it through this dinner he’d be off the hook for a month or so before Rita started nagging him again. Not that he didn’t love his sister, but she could be downright exasperating. She never let go of an idea either. She was due to mention Ellen Pritchard again soon. Rita thought she was so clever, smoothly inserting her friend’s name into the conversation repeatedly."
Ah, Rita. No one's ever accused her of subtlety. That's my six for the week. By sure to visit the lovely and talented authors who make Six Sentence Sundays the joyous occasions they are!
