Six Sentence Sundays 7/15/2012

Hello Sixers!  It's Sunday again and you know what that means...

Today we find ourselves in Chapter 9 of "Bridging The Gaps."  It's a family dinner at the Pritchard house, minus Stephanie.  While trying to get her three younger children to talk Ellen mentions that it's time for Matt's next dental exam.  He balks at going to see the dentist he's had for more than a decade.

“Is it really so bad, Matthew?”
“Mom, I’m fifteen years old,” He put down his fork to gesture with his right hand.  “I don’t want to go to a dentist where I have to be this high to sit in the ‘big boy chair’.”
Lanie started laughing, earning a glare from Matt.
“All right. I’ll find another dentist for you."

Where oh where could Ellen find a new dentist for Matt?  Any suggestions, readers?

Thank you all for reading and to those of you who comment, thank you for taking that time as well.  Check out more awesome writers by visiting Six Sentence Sunday.

Great dialogue here, I can just imagine a fifteen year old boy saying that.

I love how you handle family dynamics. So realistic! If she's looking for a new dentist, she could friends, check Google reviews or use something like Angie's List.

Let's see. Henry is a doctor, but is he by any chance a dentist?

Maybe she might ask Henry? :D by the way you can toss that manuscript I sent - getting a re-do - again :D

These are great family dynamics. And Matt reminds me of my own son. He's not quite eight and won't wear the Angry Birds band-aids I bought the other day because they're too "babyish." (Which is funny because I would wear them without a second thought.) Great six!

Why do I have a feeling this "finding a new dentist" is going to be more involved than it sounds? Loved the tone of this excerpt, really sounds like my family has sounded at times...great six!

I love it, Kate. "...where I have to be this high to sit in the ‘big boy chair’.” You keep it so real. That is just how a 15 year old looks at things :-) ! Great six!

This six has a very organic feel, though I can't help thinking that she gave into his demands a bit too easily. Nice job!
